The Story of Muzeon

About Us

Muzeon is an innovative Jewish history exhibition, founded in 2020, as a private initiative. Based on a family history, Muzeon tells stories of the Jewish community in Cluj, Romania, via three different audio guides: Julia, Paul, and David. All the information in the exhibition, including the audio guide, is available in English, Romanian, Hungarian, Hebrew, French, and Spanish.

The Muzeon mission is to offer visitors a meaningful learning experience, without the effort of learning. That is why there are three different audio guides, which tell real stories in first person, combined with interactive exhibits, artifacts, artistic installations, and Virtual Reality.

What They Say About Muzeon

Reviews from our visitors

  • A totally wonderful experience! Muzeon really gives you the drive to learn more about Jewish history on your own, thanks to the audio guide, the interactive exhibits, and the well-curated textual information available on their website (note that it is not a transcript of the audio, but rather some useful additions; I highly recommend reading them as well). I found myself spending two hours inside without even realising it. I think everyone should visit this museum in order to better understand the harsh reality of the 40's and to somehow get a grasp of the cruel hell the Jews had to go through during the Holocaust. This part of history should never ever happen again, regardless of the targeted minority. And this message gets all the more relevant now with the unfortunate rise of far-right parties in Europe.

  • With the individual stories that can be heard, everything that we know as dry facts from books has become personal and even more experiential. I recommend to everyone! Perhaps it would be worthwhile to voice the characters in several languages.
