About Us

Muzeon is an innovative Jewish History Museum, founded in 2020, as a private initiative. Based on a family history, the museum tells stories of the Jewish community in Cluj, Romania, via three different audio guides: Julia, Paul, and David. All the information in the museum, including the audio guide, is available in English, Romanian, and Hungarian.

The Muzeon mission is to offer visitors a meaningful learning experience, without the effort of learning. That is why there are three different audio guides, which tell real stories in first person, combined with interactive exhibits, artifacts, artistic installations, and Virtual Reality.

  • 5 star review  It was a very surrounding and immersive experience... I would say amusing if the topic weren't so touching and dramatic. I suggest it!

  • 5 star review  It focuses a lot on emotion and storytelling rather than artefacts and historical chronologies like your typical museum and does a great job through the use of personal perspective of telling the story of the Jews After seeing this place I went to the few remaining synagogues in the city, before this museum I was quite unaware of the Jewish past of the city The museum is very modern in both display and how you interact with it, there is an audio guide available in several languages, an app you open on the phone which guides you through the rooms and an original way of making a story out of everyday objects It's not the cheapest museum but I definitely recommend it
