The Story of Muzeon

About Us

Muzeon is an innovative Jewish history exhibition, founded in 2020, as a private initiative. Based on a family history, Muzeon tells stories of the Jewish community in Cluj, Romania, via three different audio guides: Julia, Paul, and David. All the information in the exhibition, including the audio guide, is available in English, Romanian, Hungarian, Hebrew, French, and Spanish.

The Muzeon mission is to offer visitors a meaningful learning experience, without the effort of learning. That is why there are three different audio guides, which tell real stories in first person, combined with interactive exhibits, artifacts, artistic installations, and Virtual Reality.

  • Humbling experience, the audio stories available were so thorough and gave great insight into the lives of the Jewish people living in and around Cluj Napoca during the terrible times of the Holocaust and leading up to it. My 5 year old didn't understand much but he was able to gain some knowledge about this part of history and that it is important to love all people so that we don't have hate in this world.

  • The museum is worth every minute spent there. It is rather small but it has an audio guide and plenty of information to read and think about. It took me around 1 hour to get back to the entrance. I recomend at least one visit there! We all need to hear these stories and learn the real history that happened so close to us.

  • The museum shows the Jewish history of the region in a very good way, balancing between using technology like VR and using a usual exhibition. I liked it very much. I would totally recommend everyone to go and visit.
